Our Story

Owner and animal lover Lana Sauceman started aqua dog because she was determined to create a place where animals felt loved, where their health came first. Raised on a farm, she was always the happiest when working with animals. In addition to having the coolest job in town, Lana enjoys spending time with her family and can often be found on the beaches of Florida relaxing on the beach with a stack of canine nutrition books by her side. She’s well-accustomed to playing with large groups of animals.

She completed her Bachelor’s at the University of Alabama in 1988. She went on to work in interior design for the Manufactured Housing Industry for over 20 years. After a particularly crazy year, she decided to do something that that she knew she would love. She completed her Master Grooming Certificate in 2009 and opened Pampered Paws and Yard Dawgs in 2010. She was grooming dogs out of her basement and loving every minute. She decided to relocate her business to a retail location when she realized there was a need to educate her clients on the importance of better nutrition for their dogs.

Her goal for aqua dog is that every 4 legged client comes in wagging and leaves wagging. “We are all about the angels that come in here, we work hard to make sure they feel safe and are happy at all times.”
